I don’t know the exact character limit, but it should say “insert number here amount of characters left” after you’ve typed a certain amount of characters already. Tumblr also doesn’t allow links in ask messages. Idk, there’s a lot of problems with the messaging system on tumblr, and sometimes things don’t go through for no apparent reason :/
